Poetry launches new ceramic range
Watch out for our new, locally made pottery range coming to a store near you. These beatifully crafted items are made by Cape Town locals and each item is hand painted and individually signed by its maker. Items in the range include egg cups, butter dishes, soap dishes and interestingly shaped designs. Prices start from R80.
Poetry turns out lights in aid of Earth Hour
At 8:30pm on Saturday 26 March 2011, Poetry lifestyle stores will show its commitment to bettering our planet by switching off lights in support of Earth Hour. Customers will still be able to shop by candlelight during this hour at our Waterfront and Canal Walk stores. Started in 2007, Earth Hour has become a worldwide occurrence to raise awareness of sustainability issues.
At Poetry we are taking a stand against climate change and believe that we should play a progressively greater role in increasing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions by sourcing more goods locally and supporting neighbouring communities.
We encourage our customers and all South Africans to be a part of the global plight against climate action as it affects all of us, our country and our planet.

Poetry showcases local designer ranges
In an exciting collaboration, Poetry lifestyle stores will feature pieces by three bright and upcoming young South African fashion designers. From November onwards, Robyn Victor, Nucleus and Trinity will each have a limited collection available at Poetry stores nationwide.
Poetry by Robyn Victor will focus on local woven linens with a style that is distinctly casual and relaxed yet feminine in silhouette. The emphasis of the range is on the beauty of linen in its natural form and texture which is very much in keeping with Poetry’s philosophy on natural fibers.
Nucleus’ range of romantic casual wear incorporates dresses, tops, skirts and trousers which are flattering and designed for comfort while Alison Jones’ range, Trinity, aspires to capture the timeless element of fashion with affordable, exclusive wearable items in summer’s pastel shades of cream, dusty pink and light taupe.
“We would like to provide local designers with a platform to showcase their work” says Group Marketing Manager, Evan Torrance. “We have successfully done this with our home and décor ranges we’re excited about presenting some of the talented fashion designers we have in South Africa through our stores”, he concludes.
The designer ranges will be available at the following Poetry stores: Western Cape: Cavendish Square, Canal Walk, Garden Route Mall, Somerset West, Tygervalley, V&A Waterfront; Gauteng: Clearwater Mall, Hyde Park, Menlyn, Rosebank, I’langa Mall, Woodlands.

Once you have your Poetry Card you can use it for purchases of R100 or more. Simply swipe your Card and choose one of the following payment plans to suit your budget:
Straight (Revolving)
24 Months Budget (purchases over R600)
36 Months Budget (purchases over R600)
No deposit is required.
There is no need to wait until your balance has been paid in full before purchasing again.
Purchases can be made with the Card as long as there is credit available and your account remains in good standing.

Lost, stolen or damaged Cards are replaced at any Poetry store at a nominal charge.
Call 0861 789 989 immediately to report the loss or theft of your Card. And remember you can re-use the credit – no need to re-apply.
What do I need to apply for a Card?
Simply bring your green SA ID book to any Poetry store and complete an application form. If you are over the age of 18, a South African citizen and earn a monthly salary of R1000 or more, we will be happy to consider your application.

Poetry launches gift registry
Poetry is proud to announce the launch of its brand new Gift Registry – an easy-to-use system that allows users to create a free online gift “wish list” for their celebration of choice, be it wedding, birthday or anniversary.
How does it work?
Creating a Poetry Gift Registry is straightforward and simple:
1.Register a personalised gift registry
2.Cherry-pick from a unique range of refined, eclectic merchandise, adding each product to your registry
3.Once complete, submit your registry online. It will be sent to your nearest Poetry store.
4.Tell your friends and family. They’ll be able to access your registry either online or in store.
Delivery
When purchasing products from our Gift Registry, users can choose one of two delivery options:
1.Personal delivery
If you choose this option, the gift will be delivered to you so that you can present it personally to the owner of the Gift Registry.
2.Poetry delivery
If you choose this option, a Poetry Store will organise for the gift to be directly delivered to the owner of the Gift Registry, in time for the celebration.
Will anyone be able to view my Gift Registry?
No. You have the ability to password-protect any Gift Registry you create. Anyone wanting to access your Gift Registry will have to provide the correct password.
Buying online – is it safe?
On the Poetry web site, we employ a variety of security measures to prevent unauthorised access to information and to ensure that your credit card details are 100% secure. Poetry does not store your credit card details.
