How does it work?
Once you have your Poetry Card you can use it for purchases of R100 or more. Simply swipe your Card and choose one of the following payment plans to suit your budget:
- Straight (Revolving)
- 24 Months Budget (purchases over R600)
- 36 Months Budget (purchases over R600)
- No deposit is required.
- There is no need to wait until your balance has been paid in full before purchasing again.
- Purchases can be made with the Card as long as there is credit available and your account remains in good standing.
- If you would like to increase your credit limit, please contact us on 0861 789 989 and we’ll try our best to assist you.
- Lost, stolen or damaged Cards are replaced at any Poetry store at a nominal charge.
- Call 0861 789 989 immediately to report the loss or theft of your Card. And remember you can re-use the credit – no need to re-apply.
What do I need to apply for a Card?
Simply bring your green SA ID book to any Poetry store and complete an application form. If you are over the age of 18, a South African citizen and earn a monthly salary of R1000 or more, we will be happy to consider your application.

Bank statements and other supporting documents may be required for verification purposes. No accounts opened for students.

With our Customer Protection Insurance Policy you can enjoy the added peace of mind with the following benefits:

POETRY LAUNCHES GIFT REGISTRY

Poetry is proud to announce the launch of its brand new Gift Registry – an easy-to-use system that allows users to create a free online gift “wish list” for their celebration of choice, be it wedding, birthday or anniversary.
How does it work?
Creating a Poetry Gift Registry is straightforward and simple:
1. Register a personalised gift registry
2. Cherry-pick from a unique range of refined, eclectic merchandise, adding each product to your registry
3. Once complete, submit your registry online. It will be sent to your nearest Poetry store.
4. Tell your friends and family. They’ll be able to access your registry either online or in store.
Delivery
When purchasing products from our Gift Registry, users can choose one of two delivery options:
1. Personal delivery
If you choose this option, the gift will be delivered to you so that you can present it personally to the owner of the Gift Registry.
2. Poetry Delivery
If you choose this option, a Poetry Store will organise for the gift to be directly delivered to the owner of the Gift Registry, in time for the celebration.
Will anyone be able to view my Gift Registry?
No. You have the ability to password-protect any Gift Registry you create. Anyone wanting to access your Gift Registry will have to provide the correct password.
Buying online – is it safe?
On the Poetry web site, we employ a variety of security measures to prevent unauthorised access to information and to ensure that your credit card details are 100% secure. Poetry does not store your credit card details.
